"The Inaugural Coronado Music Festival to Feature Local and Regional Musical Acts"
By KUSI Good Morning San Diego - 2019/08/16 - kusi.com
Dear Artists and Musicians,

Due to the uncertainty of our times and the health concern regarding large public gatherings, the Coronado Music Festival has been canceled for September 2020.

It is expected that Federal and San Diego County health guidelines will possibly continue to discourage large community gatherings through the fall due to COVID-19.

At present, the City of Coronado has canceled the Summer Concert in the Park series as well as the Fourth of July Celebrations. Without any idea of when restrictions will be lifted, we have had to make the difficult decision to cancel our event. In particular, because children performers from Coronado schools are a large part of our community event.

Thank you for understanding and we wish you and your families good health during this crisis.

Sincerely,

Penny Rothschild

The Coronado Music and Art Foundation wishes to Thank all that supported, attended and performed in our First Annual Coronado Music Festival 2019!  We were SO very excited for our 2nd annual festival this September 2020 and to bring you another fantastic line up of performers and artists! Unfortunately due to the uncertainty of our times and the health concern regarding large public gatherings, the Coronado Music Festival has been canceled for September 2020. Thank you for understanding.

The Coronado Music Festival is a three day, family-friendly, FREE Music Festival in Coronado CA, featuring local and regional musical talent of all genres and visual art. The 2020 Music Festival is our second festival for Coronado Music and Arts Foundation (CMAF), a nonprofit, whose mission is to provide cultural music and art experiences for at risk and homeless individuals including special needs adults through a variety of settings in Coronado and San Diego. Our motto is “Bridging the Cultural Arts Experience”, highlighting the exchange of creativity and education in a variety of art and musical mediums between both sides of the Coronado Bridge.

At CMAF, our passion is to provide art workshops that allow our targeted population the opportunity to express themselves through the arts. In San Diego, CMAF has partnered with the Salvation Army and St. Paul’s Senior Services, offering bi-monthly, free art workshops for their low-income seniors and homeless clientele.

In Coronado, CMAF offers a Senior Art Workshop (SAW) on the last Thursday of each month from 1-2 pm. CMAF offers the Military Kids Art Workshop (MKAW) for active duty military kids on the last Sunday of each month from 1-2 pm. All art workshops are free, only require a sign up and take place at Emerald C Gallery.
CMAF also sponsors a free, monthly, open-mic event and art show at Emerald C Gallery for individuals to showcase their musical, visual arts and literary talents.
